If you give up *that* easily, Graham, you'll *never* cut it as a tech
writer. The first time you ask for the information you need to even begin
thinking about your first real-world project, you'll get far worse than
anything you received from that thrown at you.

But some advice, if I may:

You might find this hard to believe, but there are college students out
there who think we're a perfect source for homework aid. This is far from
the first post to set off those alarms (I don't even think it's the first
one this semester). As a result of long practice out here, most of us have
highly sensitive "homework dectectors;" some are even so hair trigger as to
give false positives. You'll fare better if you keep the questions short
(perhaps limited even to one per post) and stay away from framing them as
if they were handed out as a class assignment by an instructor. We're here
because we like to help. We're tech writers because we like people who
learn. We *don't* like to let the former interfere with the latter. It's
one thing to hand a "ready reference" answer to a harried colleague up
against a deadline; it's quite another to hand one to people who are
supposed to be learning how to find it for themselves. Learning is
something we all take seriously around here.

I'm one of the more cynical list members, and I ignored your "fun
questions" because I was (and still am) 99.44% sure that it was a worksheet
given out in class. (And if it wasn't it should be, so if you *did* write
it yourself, take the compliment and be happy with it.)

Have fun,
