Hi Cheryl:
Without going into all the specific details of each role, here at Cooper,
they pay the same bonus for the two main positions - Designers and Design
Communicators (tech writers). They have smaller bonuses for sales/marketing
types, and still smaller for referring folks for other staff positions. But
documentation of designs is an integral part of the service that Cooper
sells. If your employer has that "documentation is a nice bonus, but it's
not really a key part of our product" mentality, I wouldn't expect this to
hold true.
Currently, there's a $2500 bonus for referring a new Designer or Design
Communicator. The bonus increases if you refer three hires- instead of
$7500, it increases to $10000. But of course, in this job market, I'm sure
they feel fairly safe offering that. <g>
