A little late, but here are my notes...

One instance where I agree with MOS.

For the most part, I agree with the posts that have said be consistent. Why
should "electronic" justify a capital E? I am a strong advocate of hyphens.
I have heard "e-merge" and "e-quip" in some form of usage. So, I think using
a hyphen all the time (when you mean electronic-somethingorother) is the
most consistent.
