I've pondered this too, and I don't think (a) there is any proper name nor
(b) it would be useful to have one. "Nth-level subheading" expresses the
idea rather nicely.

Subject: Headings and Subheadings and ...?
Hi, I have a small question.
Suppose, there are headings.
Under the headings, there may be subheadings.
But under the subheadings, there may be subheadings too.
How can I call these second level subheadings?
Is there any proper English word?
...
By the way, I want to thank for the great help, the list gave me during the
last months.
Bernd
