TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

One might assume that if they managed to find TechWr-L, they understand the
concept of search engines. Plus, when they subscribed, they would have
received the e-mail from Eric which says (I'm quoting an old one, but I
believe the gist is the same):
TECHWR-L MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES
To Other List Members:
* Respect other people's time. If the correct
usage/word/information is in a standard
reference book that you have, look it up
rather than asking 4000 other people to
look it up for you. If you've already done
your homework, then say so explicitly.
* Use the archives and don't post questions
that have been beaten to death recently.
If it's been posted, it's in the archives,
so don't ask others to do the archive
research for you.
It also says:
* Be nice. Attack ideas, not personalities, and
stay nice in off-line commentary as well.
