We've discussed this before, but it's been awhile... I'm really amazed at
the variety of responses you're getting, but here goes one more:
"Appears" is a strange choice of words, to me. And "displays" is indeed a
transitive verb (but NOT passive voice...sheesh!)
Why not use something simple, like "opens"?
