Dana,

They all have their good points. What exactly are you looking for in these
books? Do you want a textbook? a Style Guide? A book on writing for
technical audiences?

I haven't heard of the books you mentioned, though they appear to be
pretty new. The reason I ask about purpose is that there are other books
that might interest you, too. I recently bought "Writing Software
Documentation" by Thomas Barker (it's more of a textbook) and another
titled "Developing Quality Technical Information : A Handbook for Writers
and Editors" by Gretchen Hargis (Editor) that is more a basic book on
writing for a technical audience, with lots about wording, simplification,
clarity, and related info. You can also look at the Technical
Communication Series by John Wiley, Publishers. I have all of those and
they're good, too. This is not an advertisement for any of these books...
just musing about your purpose and offering some alternatives.

Hope that helps.

Jane
