Apparently someone had problems FM5.5 on Windows NT has
with .wmf files.
Kerstin said:
Well, we're using FM5.5.6 on Windows NT 4. All our vector graphics are
saved as *.wmf files; we import them as reference into FM - and I have
never had any troubles with them (in one and a half year). Nor have my
colleagues mentioned problems.
Then Dannette Thompson said:
I'm afraid I don't know enough about the underlying cause of this problem to
explain why it sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. We had just under 20
files in a Frame book, and only 3 of them experienced problems. Our graphics
were embedded rather than imported by reference, and I found the most
problems when we used Frame's anchored frame to crop the image. I don't know
if any of those things are factors or not.
And I say:
I too have never had problems with WMF files in Frame 5.5.6 or 6.0 under
NT4.
This is how I get figures that I make in Visio into Frame.
I also use Visio for block diagrams, and to add callouts to screen shots.
Save as WMF.
I do this because converting the Frame files into HTML seems to go much
better with graphics files than with callouts right in the frame.
Usually by reference, but I have some embedded by a previous writer.
No problems.
But I never use the frame to crop the image! Surely that's asking for
trouble?
