Hello David
If you use FrameMaker you have this information at your fingertips.
>From the File menu select View>Color>Definitions...
In the Color Definition Dialog, select Color Libraries
Select one of the Pantone libraries For example Pantone Coated
In the "Find: Pantone" text box type the Pantone number, example 578 (green)
You obtain a display list of color bars with values close to, and including
the one specified.
Click on the required color. in this case 578 then Click Done.
Back in the Color definitions dialog, use the Model list to select RGB or
HLS
definitions of the color:
Green 578:
RGB 75.6, 77.2,43.3
HLS 62.8,60.2,42.6
Now the problem here is that there quite a few Pantone Libraries, so if I
choose Pantone Uncoated, then the definitions for color 578 are:
RGB 64.8, 70.6, 36.2
HLS 70.2, 53.4, 36.9
Besides the two above mentioned libraries there are also the following
Pantone libraries: Process, Process Euro, Process CSG, ProSim, and ProSim
Euro.
Here are your other color equivalents in Pantone Coated and Pantone
Uncoated:
Red 185:
