I agree with Michele that "the Ops. people who assigned you this project
would probably be the ones to ask about what they envision this 'run book'
to be."
Back in the dark ages when I was programming, a "Run Book" was an operations
handbook that told the people in the computer room how and when to run
certain programs/do (or debug) certain procedures, etc. It included standard
(daily, monthly, quarterly)procedures, scripts, expected results, emergency
phone numbers for various contact people, where to find and how to order
supplies, etc. Sort of "What to do until the plumber comes" stuff.
A key question to ask is whether they want it online or in hard copy (or
both). If it's online, it could be a sort of knowledge base, which could be
an interesting exercise for you. Your first job, however, is to put a fence
around it! Go talk to the people.
