I too was using a screen capture to record bugs in the software. I ound it
invaluable in being able to tell/show the developers what the bug was. Now
I'm finding that SnagIt makes that easier because of the available tools.

Subject: Another use for SnagIt

Using Snagit, I capture the error message and the whole screen that
the message appears on. I open the capture in Snagit Studio and using
the tools, add a message block with what I was doing that caused the
message and circles and arrows pointing to fields that I was working
in and anything else appropriate to the error. This image is attached
to the email report and now, even if the image gets removed from the
email, it contains everything needed to document the problem.

It has worked very well for my developer.>
