Another style manual you may not know about is the Associated Press Stylebook. It's written for journalists, and besides being a style guide, it's also a dictionary/encyclopedia explaining the correct ways to refer to subjects such as military ranks, religous and governmental offices, nobility, agencies, titles, degrees, etc. Flip through one next time you're in a bookstore; it might be a nice addition to your bookshelf.
