The AP style book (and libel guide) is a good reference for some of that
picky stuff like titles, etc., but it is murder on punctuation. If using
the AP guide, always keep in mind that part of its mission is to save ink
and has a strong aversion to commas.

My 10th grade English teacher is also the journalism teacher at my old high
school. He taught us AP style punctuation as if it were proper English
grammar. It took me years to get over those bad habits.
