It occurs to me that search engines, while useful, fall short of
revolutionary. I've been doing Boolean searches at libraries for
years now, and an ability to use a mental thesaurus has been a basic
research tool for me ever since I got my first library card when I
was five.

True, more people are using them now. So maybe this is an area where
the Internet has had a positive affect.
