Working off the original thread, my fiancee gave me a new Polaroid Joycam camera for Christmas. Since I already had two nice Canon EOS 35mm cameras, I didn't get around to taking the camera out of the box till Sunday on a little day trip my father and I were making.

I stopped and bought the film and proceeded to attempt to load the film in the car. Neither the camera nor the film came with written directions. Instead, on the bottom of the camera, was a label that presented picture diagrams on operating the camera.

I began to think about how thoughtful they were to include a picture about operating the camera, but not to include a diagram on how to load the film. Then I opened the bottom cover of the camera where I thought the film would be placed. I was greatly surprised to see another diagram on the inside of the cover showing how to put the film in.

I'm just amazed that in the whole box, there are no written instructions anywhere, but I guess it saves on translation costs. At a cost of $14 for a cartridge of 10 photos, you'd figure they could include something more to titillate me.

Happy Holidays, valued listserv members!

On Dec. 24th, we were at my brother-in-law's house for dinner and gift
giving. He gave his daughter an inexpensive digital camera.
