I'm sorry everyone I was deliberately vague on this because I did not have
to produce documentation to justify my decision to move away from frames.
Normally I would have produced a presentation to persuade the upper echelon
but this time I already had the "go ahead", it was more for my own piece of
mind.

Arlen had one of the more persuasive reasons for not using frames. It hits
home because our main problem with frames is search engines bookmarking
pages arbitrarily. The original web designer relied heavily on frames and
did not put any other type of navigation on the pages, thus leaving an
arbitrarily picked page without navigation.

I read some articles in Intercom, www.webmonkey.com,
http://www.pagetutor.com/ as well as some discussions on JAVA sites and the
archives here. All other suggestions where posted to this thread.

I was all over the place and didn't keep a log, so I can't quote anything
nice. Not too professional I know. :(

Barb

Hello Barbara,

Would you mind summarizing the recommendations for not using frames?

Thank you,
