As far as I know, they do not have a Usenet interface, but you can subscribe
to mailing lists there with the option to receive no mail and read messages
on the web site.

Does egroups offer a news:// interface? Mailing lists generate too much
traffic, digests are too bulky (and how do you respond?), but reading a
mailing list through a newsgroup is perfect. It's definitely my preferred
way to read techwr-l (and I'll bet it eases the load on Eric's sendmail
server).
