I always have someone else - or several someone elses - edit and/or proof my
cover letters and resumes. I KNOW there will be things in the docs that I
don't catch. When I spend all that time fussing, certain things become
invisible. I wouldn't think of publishing something for my employer that
I've both written and proofed, why would I do it with my own?

But I learned the hard way. I did send out a resume that I found a really
embarrassing error in later, and while I was mortified, I got over it.
Mostly that's coz I sent it to a recruiter, so I could send them a new one
with the excuse of it being an update. Oops.

<FYI, while we're a little shaken, things could be SO much worse. Thanks.>
