The straight answer to your question is <no>. If you are writing a glossary,
lexicon or dictionary <by the book>, you are not allowed to use the word you
are defining, or any of its derivatives, in your definition. Unfortunately,
the only references I can think of now are the ones from my
translation/terminology classes, in French.
There were some good suggestions from list members to improve your
definition. Have fun!
