Don't you have a CPA or good tax preparer?

You ought to get one. They can answer questions like this specifically as
they apply to your situation. Plus, they generally save you more money than
they cost, depending on how big those 1099 checks are.

If you are self-employed, the first two professional relationships you need
to establish are with a CPA and an attorney. This will go a long way toward
ensuring that you don't become one of the statistics showing that over 80%
of new businesses fail within five years. Otherwise the tax man and the
bureaucrats will wipe you out.
