TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Our new project is a client/server software package. The server runs on a
Linux box. The client can run on Linux, UNIX or Windows.
We need to decide what tools we should use to develop online help, online
tutorials/demos and, hopefully, natural language searching/expert system.
The Questions:
Do any of you currently work on a similar system?
Did you use html help, java help, or 'other' for the online help system?
Is there a platform independent tutorial/demo choice?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
