What exactly are the supplementary documents?

My HOW5 (Handbook of Office Workers, Revision 5 -- they are
probably on Revision 99 by now...), has a set of guidelines listed
for published and unpublished works. If it's an unpublished doc, the
title is placed in quotation marks (title caps). For published works,
a book title, magazine title, or newspaper is underlined OR placed
in all upper caps. Chapters in a book, sections of a pamphlet,
articles in a magazine or newspaper are placed in quotation marks
(with title caps).
