I know you already solved this. For future reference, I have a freeware batch program on Windows... I also have a version of the Maker word count report that I can run from this batcher. So you couuld set it up to report word count for each file in the book, then just add up the counts for a total in the book.

If you want the wordcount dll, you have to ask for it - I haven't posted that for general consumption (due to lack of interest, mainly). All other CudSpan freeware tools are available on my site:
