> Is there any reason you can't revise > your titles to say Technical
Writing
> Intern or Asst. Technical Writer?
> Maggie Secara
I was wondering the same thing. I worked for over a year as a Requirements
Analyst. Nobody hardly knows what that is....So, I changed my title to
"Technical Writer" and had offers coming out of the woodwork.
I sign my emails "Technical Writer" but there is absolutely no way to
describe what I currently do in two words or less...If it has to do with the
written word, it is my job. This means keeping a company intranet website
current, writing Requirement Documents, Functional Specifications, error
messages, help files, and white papers. Tomorrow, they will find something
else for me to do...
Titles are not set in stone, unless you work for a major government
installation ("Private", "Corporal", "General", etc.).
