RE: Interviews (5 Year Question)
writing field, pattern recognition (being able to discover order within
chaos) is a much more valuable skill than logical thinking (also very
valuable!).
I think this also has to do with being goal-oriented (something Andrew approves of). Logical thinking (goal-oriented) vs. chaos-taming (my favourite task as a technical writer) seems to fit many technical writers' natures, and may be why we gravitate to this field, and why we stay here after 5 years. I'm not goal-oriented, as such: but I keep one eye on the task(s) at hand and the other(s) on what's ahead.
Now that the giraffe is IN the fridge, how long does it keep before it goes bad? And how do we get it out again?
