I was out of work from March 1 to June 1. During that time, I either
spoke or emailed with maybe over 100 agencies. I have a personal
database of agencies that numbers over 200.

My previous rate was $77/hr, with the two previous contracts over
$60/hr. Of all those agencies, I came across three who didn't give me
the "with the economy the way it is, if you don't take this at
$42/hr, I have several others who will" attitude. Instead, they had
recruiters who kept me informed not only when they had something to
say, but when there was no change in staus (one emailed me with a
staus EVERY DAY for 3 weeks), who pressed their clients for better
rates, who contact my references and dicussed me with them
INTELLIGENTLY, looking for hooks to justify those rates. These were
choice agencies, ones where you trust them enough to determine the
direction of your career.

At the same times, when I sent the three names to this person, I
emailed these three agencies telling them they might be called by him
to "pave the way".

Is this enough investment?
