I understand how it can happen, though, in a small company. We are housed
in a former bank building...neighborhood branch size. Our product has two
parts to it: a software solution (digitally encrypted media) and an Internet
solution (a web site that sells the media).
The software developers live in a trailer, the web developers live in
another trailer, and the rest of us (network, integration, and yours truly)
have cubicles in the main building. Although I make as many trips to the
trailers as possible, it is not unheard of for the developers to spend the
entire weekend in the trailer, and show up Monday afternoon (after crashing
for 15 hours or so) with a new interface! As I rapidly document the new
changes, the "powers that be" will suddenly make additional changes for
marketing reasons....
Yes, it is frustrating. But it is so much more interesting than other
things we could do for a living.
