Hello TECHWR-Lers,

I have a problem.

I have searched the archives under post-production revisions, revision etc
and couldn't find anything. I have also searched the STC periodicals site
and found nothing. I also checked Sun's Read Me First! A Style Guide for
the Computer Industry and Charles Brusaws' Handbook of Technical Writing
3rd ed. and still nothing.

Needs:
A way to add post-production changes to a manual: so it can be found; so
the TOC and Index do not need changed.

Background:
I have written to user manuals, one for scheduling and one for the
registration of medical appointments. My section provides the training and
support for the registration and scheduling software the manuals support.
Up to this point the manuals were given to the users towards the end of
class and not used during training, however I pushed for it to be used in
training and with the next class it will. Nice thing about the next class
is its the SME's on scheduling and registration so should get some good
feed back for the next edition of the manual.

The instructor for the next course was building her training plan and
noticed a segment was not documented in the current edition and would like
it to be added without a full rewrite of the appropriate chapter and
changing the TOC and Index since those are already in print.

How can I add the documentation for the missing process and add it to the
current manual.

Thoughts:
I could write the process up as an addendum or such and
o add it to the manual in front of the TOC.
o add it to the back of the manual, and add a list of changes in front
of the TOC.

Thank you for your help.
