A FAQ or an FAQ?

Subject: A FAQ or an FAQ?

"A/an" isn't the sort of question I would usually put to Techwr-l, but since
I'm using this phrasing in a cover letter to a prospective employer, it
could be touchy -- so I'd like to know whether most of you would use "a" or
"an" in this phrasing:

"It included an FAQ section..."
or
"It included a FAQ section..."

I know that a/an depends ONLY on how something sounds. I pronounce it
"fak" -- but do most of you pronounce it "eff ay kew?" Or do you say the
whole phrase when you see its initials?

I think I've been in the minority by pronouncing SQL as "sequel" -- I'm
hearing more people say "ess kew ell." And I used to say "earl" for URL, but
found most people say "you are ell," so I changed my ways.

Maybe I'll avoid the whole problem and spell out Frequently Asked Questions,
so there can be no pronunciation dispute!
