Yes, but it's quite consistently only a "C" where the heading "Contents"
should be--I don't get both, as you describe.

That paragraph (the actual "Contents" heading) is formatted to look like
a "Heading 1" paragraph and assigned to the same hierarchical level, but
is actually a "Normal" style paragraph. I've always assumed that was the
cause of the problem.

I'm so used to it now that changing "C" to "Contents" is just part of my
doc-to-pdf production process!
