I don't know if you can learn this as a student,
or if it is number one, but this is high on the
importance scale:

We all need the ability to recognize when a
document is good enough to ship, even though we
know that we could make it so much better.
As David Locke reminds us in a parallel thread,
"Perfection is the enemy of the Good."

We all need techniques that let us produce
something worthwhile that can be published in
a hurry. Then, if resources permit, we can
reiterate the process, approaching "perfection"
as a limit (not a goal).

If resources do not permit reiteration, we move
on to the next project without looking back.
