Last night (Sunday), after being away for the weekend, came home to
one of my desktop PCs displaying a message something along these
lines:
I/O error
Please install another disk
I'm assuming that my disk crashed, though I'll know more tonight when
I install an older spare HD to see if everything else holds
togetherand it's not a motherboard thing.
So...since I might have to reload an OS and applications, I'm torn
between the following options:
1) Win98 (current config)
2) System Comander with dual OS; 98 and Linux
3) Linux
4) WinXP
5) System Comander with dual OS; XP and Linux
Questions:
1) If I go the System Commander route...do I install 98 (or XP)
first, then SysCommand or do I format, load SysCommand, then the two
OSs?
2) Is there anything in XP that includes built-in dual-boot so that I
can skip SysCommmand?
3) Does XP work in a dual-boot config?
4) Does anyone see anything in the above 5 choices that are
technicaly not possible?
