I think the key here is "tactfully." There's a difference between saying, "I think that my boss could understudy Adolf Hitler" and saying, "My boss and I have different styles, so I thought it best to move on." The first can rebound on you, and make you look like a chronic complainer, especially if you go on to elaborate. The second acknowledges the fact, but is more graceful and mature, suggesting that you had some responsibility for the problem relationship."
