re: Netscape 6x
reportedly NS 6.1 didn't
work at all (basically) and things are now fixed and fine with NS 6.2. At
least that's what I read.
I haven't had the courage to try Netscape 6.anything on my PC yet. On the Mac side of the office, while 6.0 was a disaster that I uninstalled after 15 agonizing hours, 6.1 has performed fairly well. I still prefer it to IE for web browsing. Since I use Eudora (full paid version) for email on both PC and Mac, I haven't done much with Netscape Mail beyond an initial verification that, yup, it could find all my accounts and download and send.
I am considering using Netscape Mail for my AOL email account, though. It is the only OEM mail reader that works with the AOL mail system, and would give me the filtering capability that AOL lacks.
