I may indeed be among the many who are ignorant about depression, despite
the fact I just recently lost my job and am trying to find new and creative
ways to pay my mortgage. However, my response is "so what"! If you have a
mental disability or suffer from some sort of illness yet are willing to
post something on a list server such as this, then you are opening up your
comments for criticism and rebuttal.
I do agree that personal attacks are unnecessary and irrelevant, but
opinions are not. Was not an opinion solicited by the original poster? In
any case, I support anyone's opinion, regardless of tone. If someone needs
the touchy feely stuff, then they should look elsewhere.
