Reference books you use the most

Okay T-whirlers, here's a Monday morning survey. 

Like many of you, I have a shelf full of reference books, all of which I
occasionally need to use. I'm curious as to which reference books you use
most often.
 
I'm not looking for lengthy explanations of why you use them, nor am I
interested in how evil or wonderful you consider certain books to be -
feel free to start your own thread along those lines. Instead, I'm
interested in which books you have to pull off the shelf most frequently,
regardless of whether you like these books or not.
 
I've boiled my super-scientific survey down to the following three
questions:
 
1. List the reference books (maximum of five) that you use most
frequently.
 
2. In one sentence, summarize or list the kind(s) of writing you do. (i.e.
manuals, help systems, marketing, fiction, humor, journalism, weird sig
lines, etc.)
 
.....and to keep this truly scientific......
 
3. Are you a dog person or a cat person?
