Ditto what the other posters have said. Just say no. Say it even louder if
it's Flash.

The only time I think it enhances the site is in some of the cool
mouseover animations I see on link buttons. But that's usually a scripting
thing.

DO learn a graphics tool like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. Graphic skills
are HIGHLY useful.

But leave the animation to Disney.
