RE: Health Coverage for Contractors

If you're in pretty good health, that is, no chronic conditions, you should
be able to purchase good coverage through a local HMO/PP in your community.
Here in Portland, an individual can get covered for about ~$225 a month.
However, if you have some health issues, you will find it difficult to get
comprehensive coverage.

That's the main reason that I go through a headhunter when I'm working a
contract. Most of the ones around here offer insurance at a reasonable cost
to contractors.
