This article has no direct tech writing content. But I thought it an
interesting story about the (occasional) perils of venting online about a
named company.

Interestingly enough, the original venter says he wouldn't have complained
so harshly in public if the company he was complaining about had responded
to his initial e-mail with an apology for a lousy customer service incident
(most companies have stock letters for such complaints): and the plaintiff
says he wouldn't have sued but his e-mail was bounced from the list on which
the venting occurred, giving him no chance to defend himself. (The list
owner says the e-mail was bounced because of attachments, not because of
content...) All in all, I think a most unusual mess: but worth remembering
as an Awful Warning. In hyperspace, EVERYONE can hear you scream. And they
may sue...

Apologies for the long additional sig: it is added automatically and outwith
my control.
