I work for a consulting company and one of my clients is researching companies that could design a web-based tutorial
program for a custom web application. The company that developed the application didn't provide any user documentation
(manual or help files) or training material. Since I created the user manual for the application, my company is researching
what it would take to develop an on-line training program in order to submit a bid for the project. My client plans on
submitting the user manual I created as a guideline for the tutorial. It makes sense for my company to bid on the
project.
I have never worked with on-line training or web-based tutorials. What kinds of programs are available to create these
kinds of tutorials? From the research that I was able to do this morning (Google and the Archives), Robohelp can produce
on-line training. Is that correct? My company doesn't have Robohelp but it is on my wish list so I might be able to get
the boss to spring for software. Someone else mentioned to me that some types of on-line training incorporate Flash? Are
these tutorials based on HTML with screenshots for the web application?
I have no idea where to start. I would appreciate any help or direction.
Thanks in advance!
Ginny
