I have a slight problem (irritation!) that I hope you can help me with.
We have a series of datasheets (done in Frame) with our contact
information on the back page plus the addresses of the main agents. The
list of agents tends to change periodically and there can be quite a bit
of updating involved - slow. I thought I'd be clever and replace the
list of agents on the Master page with a graphic, imported by reference
to cut down on updates and that's where my problems started.
Everything was fine in Frame but in Illustrator I was getting
characters running into each other. No obvious problems with character
formatting. Easily solved by putting in some additional spaces but that
doesn't solve the underlying cause
When I distilled the document the text input in Frame looked
(noticeably) different from that in the imported graphic
As all the products being used are from Adobe I wasn't expecting any
problems at all. Arial fonts seem to be fine but Garamond and
Palatino.... I can simply change the lot to Arial but I'd like to know
what's causing the problem. All ideas welcome.
