The only way that I can reproduce your situation is if
I'm in the "slide sorter" view, I have the "slide
sorter" toolbar and the "standard" toolbar on the same
row, and I have too many items on my toolbars for the
room allotted. The Summary Slide item is on the
toolbar already, just not showing because of this.

If this is the case, and you want to keep all of your
items on the toolbars, try moving the "slide sorter"
toolbar to the next row, or "float" it (pull it down
onto the page), or move the end (where it butts up
against the standard toolbar) of the "slide sorter"
toolbar farther to the left so that all items on
the "slide sorter" toolbar are showing.

Otherwise, you could "deselect" some items that you
don't use as often on either toolbar to free up some
toolbar space, and still keep both toolbars on one row.

Hope this helps.

If not, please give a little more information on what
version of PPT or how your window is set up.....

Patti
