That may be an advantage of Framemaker over Word, then. I've noticed
that index entries in conditionally included files sometimes misbehave
in Word. (I haven't discovered a reproducible pattern--I've just seen
the occasional anomaly.)

Another advantage from an indexing point of view is the absence of
anything like IXgen (http://home.pacifier.com/~franks/) for Word.

HTML Indexer 4 is still the easiest way to create and maintain indexes
for web sites, intranets, HTML Help, JavaHelp, and other HTML documents.

Now with fully integrated cross-references, target frames and windows,
multiple-file output, "one-step accept" of default entries, and more!
