Could be. Also, could be that this company's bread and
butter lies in selling products/services for the IT
industry, in which case you need to be able to write
for that audience. If you don't know it like they do,
you can't write it well enough to suit their needs.
(Oh my, I think I'm opening up a nasty can of worms,
but that's how I see it.)
