Hi all.
Have another technical curiosity to ask you all.
A coworker just opened a RoboHelp project that she pulled from Visual Source Safe. It contains 3 docs (and their corresponding rtf files), several shg and bmps, and the other usual stuff. RoboHelp explorer shows that one of the docs contains dozens of topics that are linked to the shg files...BUT, when you open the doc file, Word doesn't show any of the topics. A quick check on topic references and broken links showed that as far as RoboHelp knows, everything is fine and dandy. Those topics exist. Word seems to be thinking the topics don't exist.
For example:
A "StreetNumber" topic appears in RoboHelp Explorer under Doc1. A hotspot to "StreetNumber" appears in shg1. BUT, if you look at Doc1 in Word, "StreetNumber" doesn't appear. Actually, out of about 40 topics, only the first one appears, "Intro".
Things I've already tried:
* Used the different views in Word to see if the topics were somehow "hidden" somewhere. they weren't
* Made sure Word was showing hidden text, it is
* Recompiled project to see if topics remained in hlp file, they did
* Double-clicked in RoboHelp Explorer to jump to topic in Word, but it just jumps to the "Intro" topic
* Deleted one of the topics from RoboHelp Explorer and checked for broken links, all links to the deleted topic were broken
Any thoughts.
As a sidebar, I've noticed that some times when we check things out of VSS, some formats have been changed. Has anyone had any experience with this?
Thanks in advance!!! :-)
