Hm. I actually like the strengths/weaknesses question, both as an interviewer and interviewee. If answered honestly, I think it can be very useful in getting an idea of people's working styles and personal goals. When I'm looking, I want a job that will allow me to capitalize on my strengths while fortifying my weaknesses, not one that will ambush me in the area I'm worst at.
And I second the part about letting the interviewee do the talking; give them some information, but let them ask for more; how they go about it will also be informative. I've sat in on interviews where the person hardly got a word in edgewise, which really seems to defeat the purpose.
