Seeking advice here isn't a bad idea, but you may also want to seek advice from
actual music geeks. If you hunt around you're bound to find online forums where
you can ask them. Their opinions on this are likely to be more informed and
relevant (they're the target audience, after all). There's probably an audio
equivalent of avsforum.com, where the home theater geeks hang out, or perhaps
avsforum has an audio section. I don't recall.

But since you asked... <g> off the top of my head, I'd consider basing the
terminology on the format of the music-- e.g., compressed vs. uncompressed, or
MP3 vs. CD Audio. That's if you're aiming for music geeks. If you're ultimately
aiming to sell this to other people, maybe the advantages of the storage options
are more relevant-- the CD version is "portable" or "standalone"... the hard
drive version has better sound quality and probably faster access, although I'm
not sure what catchy name would sum that up. Or there's the
software-installation terminology that a lot of users are familiar with:
minimal installation (where most of the stuff stays on CDs) and full
installation (where everything gets copied to the hard drive).
