Nayanika Yellepeddi wonders: <<Can somebody please tell me whether one can
modify the Normal template? How does one go about it?>>

First, you've got to find Normal. Because the location varies between
operating systems and you didn't specify which one you're using, the easiest
way to find the file is to use your operating system's "search" function; on
the PC, open the Start menu, select Search, then Files or Folders, then type
"Normal". Same basic notion on the Mac, only easier: Command-F in the Finder
to open Sherlock, then type "Normal".

You can't generally just double-click this file, because doing so opens a
new document based on this template rather than opening the template itself.
So, once you know where the file is, open it in Word. (You may have to set
the options in the File Open dialog box to show "all files" rather than just
"Word documents".) Make any changes you want to make, then save the file.
Done!
