Hanging over my desk at work is the front page of the November 30, 2001, Austin Chronicle (the local independent weekly) with a guy standing by the side of the road with a "Will write for <x'ed-out>stock options</x'ed out> Food" sign. <g> I think I've also got a jpg of the same picture if anybody wants to see it.

I'm just thankful about two of the interviews I tanked before getting my current job: Enron and Trilogy (who I've been told laid off all of their writers).

I actually saw a guy on an Austin, TX intersection, dressed in a nice
shirt and tie, with "MCSE Certified, Please Hire Me" kind of signage.
It was really depressing to see, and made me despair of ever getting
a job again, because we surely must be in the beginning of a new Great
Depression.
