Well, the obvious solution is to install it on Linux.
But, I know of a BUNCH of people who have it
running just fine on Win2K. Some of them -- or
some who have had problems -- might be able
to smooth the path for you.
Try the following:

My experience, so far, is that OOo 1.x is easily a match
for MSOffice, but falls short of FrameMaker.
That's pretty darn good for any software at version 1.
